About the NWCA
The Normanview West Community Association has been around for quite some time. Our role has evolved over the years as our community has grown and changed. We’re lucky to have our schools, mall and abundant greenspace. Your new board would like to focus on enhancements to our area and how we can offer updated programming that meets the needs of our diverse community.
The Normanview West neighbourhood is located
in the West Zone in Ward 8 bordered by the Sherwood/McCarthy neighbourhood North of 9th Avenue North, the Rosemont/Mount Royal neighbourhood South of 1st Ave North and the Normanview neighbourhood to the east of McCarthy Boulevard and last but not least the Prairie View neighbourhood to the west of 7th Avenue. We reside on Treaty 4 Territory and homeland of the Métis.
Wascana Creek
runs through the middle section of the neighbourhood. The open space along the Creek provides a bike and walking path, benches, a toboggan hill and other recreational opportunities. Ruth M. Buck Park features a community operated tree nursery, a boarded outdoor rink and ball diamonds. There are a few other neighbourhood parks well distributed across the community.
Boundaries
include two elementary schools and the Normanview Crossing Mall as the main commercial area which offers grocery, dining, recreational, personal care, financial, fuel and convenience retail outlets! We are one of the most abundant community associations with our small size!
Get Involved
Volunteer
We welcome anyone who would like to volunteer in any capacity. Volunteers can join our board and make decisions about where our money is spent, adding programming or planning for the future of our area. If you have an idea on how you could help or have something to volunteer other than time all is welcome and appreciated!
Advertise on our sign
Our sign is located on the corner of 9th Ave and McCarthy Blvd. The sign is highly visible and has a large amount of traffic both going by and sitting at red lights each day which will see your message. The sign can be booked for minimum one week at a time. The cost is $40 per week.
Did You Know?
There are numerous grants available to community associations to enhance our open space areas. Our board is working as much as we can on these grants but the time needed to apply is short on our end. If you have time to help apply for grants or have experience you could pass on, anything you can contribute is appreciated!
